There is flexibility on the location for some remote working.

A dynamic and enthusiastic individual is required to facilitate the successful delivery of the new Marches and Gloucestershire Broadband Grant Scheme.

Working closely with Partners from the local authorities in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Gloucestershire, the post will be based at Herefordshire Council and sit within the Fastershire broadband team.

The Marches and Gloucestershire Broadband Grant is a £4.5m European Regional Development Fund initiative that will run until March 2019. Its sole purpose is to provide financial support to SMEs who have yet to secure access to superfast broadband through the work of Fastershire, Connecting Shropshire and Superfast Telford.

The post will

• Lead the marketing and communications activity for the scheme and assist others to flow information down through their respective networks;
• Report to and liaise with partners on the issues relating to supplier and business engagement;
• Support SME applicants to navigate their way through the online application portal www.mgbroadbandgrants.com;
• On-board and liaise with broadband suppliers; and
• Troubleshoot issues with the Online Portal as they arise via the management of the portal developer’s service contract.

The project partners wish to recruit an animator with excellent communication and networking skills who can promote and communicate the benefits of high speed broadband to a SME audience disbursed across a wide geographical area and can also provide practical support to applicants that result in successful applications to the scheme.

The successful applicant will be expected to work independently and often at a distance from the office whilst maintaining excellent relationships with identified individuals within each of the partner organisations. They will need to be adaptable, be able to manage their own workload and successfully achieve targets within specific deadlines.
